Intellectual property is something that is your own. It is something that is a piece of work that you can call your own and put copyright on it. You can apply copy right to it because it is something you created or something that came from you. There are several different types of intellectual property including a drawing, music, a writing piece, a picture you took, etc. My understanding of creative rights is that people who have put their own twist on something gor it is their original idea and can claim it and if people want to use it they need to ask the person for permission first. Music, tv shows, writings, etc., are explains of materials that can be protected by the copy right laws. Copyright laws prohibit using another piece of work, and not citing where it came from so others think its your own. You must cite where you get anything that isn't yours from. I would feel very ripped off if someone took something i created and started making money from it, because it was originally my idea.
